Introducing Peter Rickers, our Director of Coaching
As you know, Melville City FC is a volunteer organisation. Without the time and efforts of parents, family and friends who volunteer as committee members, coaches and assistant coaches, team managers, referees and assistant referees and general helping hands the club would not exist.
None of these teams can take the field each week without the guidance, direction and support of a coach and the other team volunteers.
If you're interested in becoming a Junior Boys or Junior Girls Coach for the coming season please download a copy of the Melville City Football Club Coaching Guidelines.
The Policy All Coaches Need to Know
In 2012, MCFC have agreed on a new policy called Equal Playing Time. Long in debate and discussion, it applies common sense to the spirit of inclusion and fairness that defines Melville City FC. To read the policy, click here:

New! Melville City FC Coaches Manual
In the coaches briefing of March 2012, I provided a copy of our MCFC coaching program. I am pleased to provide a reformatted copy here which contains the resources all junior coaches should use as a development guide for their teams. Any coach looking to build a comprehensive and structured approach to their team training program should work with me and follow this guide. Please contact me and lets make a plan.
FFA Coaching Curriculum - every coach should read this
In September 2013, the FFA published a comprehensive curriculum guide - a MUST READ for all coaches. It covers coaching philosophies and practical coaching ideas including drills and session planning for players from Under 6 to adult levels. 295 pages, 15MB. Click Here to download.
I intend to update this web page with lots of new information about coaching tips, programs and techniques. It will be a resource for all of our coaches. Check back soon for more details.
